World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 5K and 1-Mile Walk Down Memory Lane

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is recognized in June every year. Help us increase awareness of Elder Abuse in our community!

Our Event : Friday, June 11, 2021

Location : Melbourne Auditorium (625 E Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901).

Times : 7 am: 5K

8:00 am : Stroll Down Memory Lane 1 Mile Course Opens

8:15 am : Awards for 5K Runners

9:00 am : Brevard County World Elder Abuse Expo Opens

Noon : Stroll Down Memory Lane Course Closes and Expo Ends

Brevard County TRIAD and the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation are hosting this fundraiser so that funds will be available to assist the programs for the needs of the elderly clients served within this program when no other funds are available. Oftentimes these funds help to supply basic needs, secure appropriate placement, and promote dignity with final disposition.

The early registration fee is $25 and guarantees a free t-shirt if signed up by May 31st, 2021. After May 31st, t-shirt availability cannot be guaranteed. Event day registration will be $30. Registrations can also be paid with cash or check also by mailing your registration form and payment to WEAAD, 4676 N Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32935

Event Day Registration will be from 6 – 6:30 am with the race beginning at 7 am. Awards will be presented at 8:30 am.

The event will be held at the Melbourne Auditorium (625 E Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901). Virtual runners are also encouraged!!!

Early Packet Pick Up: Thursday, June 10th from 10 am to 3 pm at Running Zone, 3696 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935

Worldwide Virtual Event

In these unprecedented times when we all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and society at large, the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation is launching the first ever virtual walk for World Elder Abuse Awareness for all ages and abilities.

Riding on the success of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day events, a virtual walk is available from now until June 15, 2021. All to keep as many people connected, fit and sane in this period of unprecedented isolation, and to raise as much needed money for the foundation.
